Association Publications
There are several publications of the 27th and the 27th Division Association. The Rio Grande Rattler was the Division newsletter when the unit served on the SW Border prior to WWI. This was followed by Gas Attack, which was the Division newsletter for their time in WWI. WWII saw the creation of it’s own newsletter, The Gallivanter. That name has stuck with the 27th Division Association newsletter ever since. In 2021, the editor created a new series of publications (Orion In Memoriam) memorializing our departed members and this ran to six volumes. In 2023, another series was launched showcasing the bravery of our Soldiers in WWI and WWII (Valor of Orion). The intent is to keep finding areas where there might not be adequate historical publications to highlight the men and women of the 27th and their actions. Stay tuned!
